Osterley, London
A modernist, full garden design makeover for a recently purchased family home with honed sandstone terraces for dining and morning coffee, a formal lawn and drought-tolerant planting.
The rear garden was split into two areas for staged development, with the area adjacent to the house rebuilt into separate dining, sunbathing and morning coffee areas, with a lawn for the children to play on.
Fencing was replaced and overgrown hedges exchanged for contemporary mixed borders, a central multi-stemmed tree and hidden routes through ornamental grasses. A formal Yew hedge and raised bed vegetable garden partially screen off the far end, which will soon be landscaped further to include a glasshouse, shady borders, second lawn and a bespoke garden studio.
